Welcome to my website which I hope you find interesting.
My work with clients brings together the power of breath, symbol and silence. While I like to make every session count (stemming from my hypnotherapeutic roots), I am at home in taking cues from the psyche when appropriate which may reflect a need for longer term work. My work as a full-time therapist is informed by the innate wisdom of the client’s unconscious mind to heal and to guide.
Parallel to my work with adults and therapists from varied backgrounds, I used to serve as a secondary school teacher for twenty-five years—ten of which were in the guidance department of a busy school. While counselling in a school environment I was able to witness the everyday reality of adolescent issues and needs; my time was taken up with material that involved everything from short pep-talks to longer stretches of therapy stemming from family trauma. I was fortunate to be able to introduce Jungian sandplay therapy to the school which enabled students to express themselves in ways not accessible in words.
