Breathwork Therapy

A formal breathwork session can vary from conscious gentle breathing to full-on anger release in which the entire body discharges old pain and conditioning.
At the heart of breathwork, is respecting and following the wisdom of the breath to lead a client into the interior spaces to repair and restore damage. In addition, Breath therapy also increases consciousness, where our thoughts, feelings and attitudes widen to encompass new experience and a wider vision of life.

My own training in Breathwork is rooted in Sienna, Italy at the Osho Miasto Centre. Combining the methods of Eastern meditation applied to the insights of Reichian bodywork, I learned a method to approach trauma release along with stilling the mind and enhancing wellbeing. Allied to the ‘active’ or concentrative meditations of Osho, I have had a life long interest in ‘receptive’ meditation that stresses the importance of just witnessing thoughts in silence rather than descriptively engaging with them.

Different methods of meditation appeal to different people; whatever approach is chosen all meditation works to soften the ego’s hold on our consciousness.
Over time with commitment, the practice of meditation seeps into the deeper structures of our personality and eventually surpasses the limits of psychological insight to heal the deep roots of trauma.
